Created by innovative bakery and dessert maestro Dominique Ansel, the “Blossoming Hot Chocolate” is a cup of hot chocolate that is ‘topped with a marshmallow flower held closed by a small, thin ring of white chocolate.’ The vanilla marshmallow starts out as closed bud. But when it touches the hot cocoa it dramatically springs opens, unveiling a chocolate truffle surprise within its puffy petals. Ansel’s handiwork is available at his bakeries in Tokyo, New York, and London. He’s also the creator of the famous cronut (an ingenious hybrid of a croissant and donut), which seems like the ideal companion to this indulgent drink.
