Big Screen TV: Marvelous, Digital-like Oil Paintings Of Iconic Movie Scenes And Actresses – Robert Lemay

Robert Lemay’s new exhibition, titled ‘Big Screen TV’, is currently hosted at The Front Gallery, Edmonton, Canada (March 22 through April 12, 2018) – Robert Lemay has been an important figure of the Edmonton art scene for over 30 years. In his new series, titled “Big Screen TV”, he uses his grid technique – his work painted square by square may appear digitized but is meticulously hand painted – to highlight the increasing influence of the digital. Today, oil paintings often compete for wall space with big screen TVs and this series plays with that reality.
