New Moon: Dramatic Contrast Between Untouched Nature And Artificial Light By David Lados

Budapest-based David Lados is a talented young photographer focusing on staged photography and experimental landscapes. David has just created a stunning series titled ‘New Moon’ where the artist captures varying streaks of light slicing through remote areas of Hungarian forests. The project had to be created at new moon, the darkest possible time allowing everything we can see on the photographs – except the sky – to be lit only by an illuminating ball, an extraneous element he placed into the landscape. A brilliant play on contrasts between material and immaterial, motion and stillness, time and timelessness.
