Puerto Rico Still Preciosa: Omar Robles Returns To His Roots To Spread Awareness And Hope After Hurricane Maria

Omar Z. Robles is a New-York based photographer focusing on dance photography, famous for his photo series of ballet dancers captured against breathtaking city landscapes around the world. Omar cites legendary French mime actor Marcel Marceau as a major influence who strengthened his interest in story telling and taught him how to interpret reality through subtle but riveting movements. About a year ago, Omar went back to Puerto Rico, a few months after Hurricane Maria, and this time he was in a very special state of mind. The result is the following gorgeous and powerful series titled ‘Puerto Rico, Still Preciosa’. ‘It was an incredibly emotional and difficult trip. I found myself fighting the tears more times than I can recall. Months after the hurricane and my island, my people, my family still carry open wounds from that horrendous day.’
