Artist 10amCoffee Draws Poetic Illustrations On Vintage Books Beautifully Merging Words And Art

We know very little about the artist who goes by the name of ’10amCoffee’ except that she’s a woman based in Germany who creates poetic and delightful illustrations on old books she finds in flea markets. Being a visual artist, she started to wonder if these vintage treasures might be useful for something different than just reading. She got out her fine-liners and started doodling on the pages. It turned out she really enjoyed the way words and art merged together creating something new entirely. ‘With my art, I would like to show the world what a great medium a book is. They are so much more than just words on pages. They are adventures and inspiration in a thousand different ways. I mainly do black and white illustrations, sometimes with splashes of red and it takes up to 8 hours to create those pieces but I love every minute of it.’ – 10amCoffee

I bet this time of night you’re still up – I bet you’re tired from a long hard week – I bet you’re sitting in your chair by the window looking out at the city – And I hope sometimes you wonder about me [I Almost Do – Taylor Swift]

I still want to hear the stories of treasure ships and fights – And all the daring rescues and all the full moon nights; – Sprinkled with the light from stars above – And Tink you know you’ll always have my everlasting love [Farewell to Tinkerbell – Edwin McCain]

There’s more than one answer to these questions – Pointing me in a crooked line – And the less I seek my source for some definitive – The closer I am to fine [Indigo Girls – Closer to fine]
