Snowlandia Zakopane Park In Poland Builds The World Largest Snow Labyrinth

The Snowlandia Zakopane park In Poland has created the world largest snow labyrinth. Opened in January 2016, it proved to be a smash hit with thousands of visitors trying to navigate the treacherous snowy maze with it’s 2-meter high walls. It took a staggering 60,000 ice bricks and 40 workers over a month to build in sub-zero temperatures the labyrinth which covers an area of 2500m² and features a 14-metre long entrance tunnel. Architects Darek Pytlik and Artur Haber encountered some serious challenges during construction, with Pytlik stating, ‘There were many sleepless nights … Some people ask us if we’re not crazy to put so much effort in building something that will only last 40 days’. If you’re in the area, the Snowlandia ice labyrinth makes an awesome ephemeral attraction for a day out with the family. Just make sure you visit in Winter!
