Karim Bouchetata Breathtaking Pictures Of Sahara Desert Turned Winter Wonderland

Just like last year, it snowed in the Sahara desert for the third time in 40 years. The Sahara desert touches several African nations including Algeria, Chad, Libya, Mali and Morocco and is one of the most hostile environments on Earth. Snow falling on the Saharan mountain ranges is very rare, let alone on the sandy dunes of the continent’s biggest desert. And here’s how it looks right now, more like a dessert than a desert. The beautiful pictures were taken this week by photographer Karim Bouchetata in the small Saharan desert town of Ain Sefra, Algeria, known as ‘The Gateway to the Desert’.
