Reflections: Max Barstow Interesting Dynamics Of Reality And Fiction In The Streets Of London

Reflections is an ongoing project by London-based photographer Max Barstow. His double exposure photographs, made without digital manipulations, show the interesting dynamics of reality and fiction he encounters daily in the streets of London.
‘I’m a London-based photographer with a degree in Philosophy from King’s College London. I’m broadly interested in images about city life, with a particular interest in people and advertisements. I’m inspired by a mixture of studio and documentary photography: Irving Penn’s ‘Small Trades’ series and still-life images of detritus inspire me as much as Michael Wolf and Bruce Davidson’s subway photographs. I’m currently working on a two-part portrait series in London, alongside an ongoing project photographing shop-windows, screens and reflective surfaces.’ – Max Barstow
