Le Crazy: Malika Favre Bold Illustrations Inspired By The Iconic Parisian Cabaret

Malika Favre’s new solo exhibition, titled ‘Le Crazy’, will be hosted at Outline Editions Gallery, London (Nov 24 – Dec 3, 2017).
Opened in 1951 by Alain Bernadin, Le Crazy Horse has gained a following not only due to its impressive dance performances, but also for the entertainment in-between these acts, creating a magic that captivated the whole venue. Even 60 years later this reputation rings true, as Malika evokes the atmosphere of the cabaret with her eye for shape, symbolism and often something a little sexy. The exhibition, which features 11 limited edition prints by the illustrator as well as large scale neon signs, was inspired after Malika invited to see the ‘Désirs’ show by one of the dancers in Paris. The prints pay homage to the iconicity of the show, presenting a ‘sensual dancer moving through graphic patterns and sharp lighting’.
