What We Leave Behind: Vicki Reed Lifesize Cyanotype Portraits Of Her Parents Dealing With Memory Loss

‘What We Leave Behind’ is a series of lifesize cyanotype portraits on fabric that photographer Vicki Reed made of her parents, in their late eighties and suffering from memory loss and dementia, before their move to a nursing home.
‘My parents are in their late eighties and suffering from memory loss and dementia. They recently moved into a nursing home and I made life-size cyanotype portraits of them on fabric before the move. In some of them I included items they were leaving behind. I wanted to preserve who they were and where I came from. Family Tree was created after they moved using clothing that they left behind.’ – Vicki Reed
