Stefan Draschan Spends Hours In Museums Chasing People Matching Artworks

For close to three years, Austrian photographer Stefan Draschan has spent hours chasing after museum patrons to get the perfect shot. For his project called ‘People Matching Artworks’,’ Draschan found himself loitering in different galleries around Paris, Vienna and Berlin in hope that someone will match one of the works on the wall; and the results are brilliant. His project first began in 2014.
‘I saw and captured the first match: a guy sitting in front of a Georges Braque in Berlin. Six months later in Munich, I saw a guy who looked like the huge Greek vase behind him, and then in Vienna, I was breathless when I discovered a woman sitting in front of a Vermeer. It then became clear that I would systematically look out for more of these coincidences.’ – Stefan Draschan
