Eye Candy: Mathew Guido’s Striking Fashion Series Testing The Limits Of Light And Colors

Captivated by Renaissance Art and exaggerated themes in Japanese Anime, Toronto-based photographer Mathew Guido is currently exploring portraiture creating images that tell a story and leave a memorable impression. Mathew was commissioned by Schon! Magazine to shoot this striking fashion editorial titled ‘Eye Candy’ and featuring Kenyan model Naro Lokuruka. Instead of shooting in a controlled studio environment with professional lights, he decided to shoot his model wearing sunglasses in dark environments, lit only by the neon and street lights. The images are strongly biased to the color tones of the specific neon lights near the model, creating incredibly strong color saturation.
