Cat Breeds As Pantone: Alessio D’Amico Reimagines The Pantone Color Chart Based On Cat Breeds

Alessio D’Amico is an Italian Visual / UI Designer currently based in Florence with a huge love for animals in general but especially for cats. And Alessio has just created a new series where he reimagines pantone shades based on the various cat breeds.
Alessio D’Amico: ‘Months staring at Sophie, my cat – with whom I have shared a love story for about 13 years – I realized how the mantle of her coat was as complex as perfect; How, according to the light, it would give shades, color, and an immense shine sensation. I grew up with cats and since I was little I always asked myself the order of things.
Having studied technical design first and graphic design then, I tried to observe the thing with the eyes of a child trying to rebuild things with the resources at his disposal, those chromatic scales. As a designer, thinking of colors, I could not refer to the great institution that now represents PANTONE. So I said, ‘why not imagine a palette with different cat breeds?’
