Disney Will Open Two Star Wars-themed Parks In 2019

Two Star Wars-themed lands, unofficially referred to as ‘Star Wars Land’, are currently being developed at Disneyland, California and at Disney World, Florida. Construction began at both locations in April 2016. Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that both Star Wars Lands are scheduled to open in 2019. This marks Disney’s largest single-themed land expansions ever at 14 acres each. It will take guests to a ‘never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before wild space where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life’. Guests will be able to sit behind the controls of the Millennium Falcon, experience a battle between the First Order and the Resistance, taste local delicacies and visit a cantina. Take a look at the concept renderings below: ‘Look closely and you may find hints of some of the thrilling experiences that are coming – like the Millennium Falcon peeking out of one of the cargo bays, marking the location where guests will get the opportunity to pilot the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy’. We can’t wait to see these plans come to fruition!
